The rescuer will actually be able to change the device to suit operational needs in the field. Main function: Detection (UWB) of the victim's movements!

LEADER SCAN MS1 is a victim location device using UWB movement detection to detect the movements made by people under the wreckage: scratching, knocks, simple chest movements due to breathing of an unconscious victim, etc. and then to locate their position under the wreckage. The SCAN radar device forms part of Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR). Using Ultra-Wide Band (UWB) technology makes it possible to send electromagnetic waves through materials to detect variations in movements. The UWB sensor (SCAN device) probes the surface of rubble to search for thoracic or hand movements of buried victims up to a distance of 30 m in open space. It detects movements through 50 cm of concrete, but also through other materials such as wood, roof tiles, glass, bricks, plastics and more. This enables rapid and efficient detection.

An upgradeable victim movement detector!

This kit enables the detection of movements under the wreckage using its UWB radar sensor = SCAN device However, it is possible to upgrade this kit later by adding: - the colour search camera (= CAM device) for visual victim location, - and/or the thermal imaging camera head (TIC device) for victim location/thermal detection, - and/or the camera head waterproof to 90 m (RD90 device) to search for victims trapped in wet or submerged spaces, - one or more seismic sensors (SEARCH device) to detect the vibrations created by people under the wreckage.

Backpacks to facilitate field movements

The LEADER SCAN MS 1 is packed in a backpack, itself placed in a rigid, waterproof case to address transport and storage constraints in operational areas. The backpack allows the rescuer to leave the heavy case at the command post. The equipment remains well protected in any case.

PRODUCT CHARACTERISTICS:

The LEADER SCAN MS 1 combines a MULTI-APP control box with an ultra-wideband radar sensor (SCAN device) to detect the movements made by people under the wreckage: scratching, knocks, simple chest movements due to breathing of an unconscious victim, etc. AN ULTRA-SENSITIVE UWB RADAR MOVEMENT DETECTOR
The SCAN ground penetrating radar features Ultra Wide Band (UWB) technology that scans the surface of the rubble to search for the movements of conscious or unconscious victims up to 30 m unobstructed.
The ultra-sensitive sensors detect even the smallest movements and indicate the precise depth at which the victim is located.
UWB technology is used to detect strong movements within 1 m (e.g. arm movements) up to 30 m unobstructed and weak movements (e.g. breathing) up to 10 m unobstructed.
The frequency of movements is also analysed to determine whether or not it is a human life.
It sends electromagnetic waves through materials to detect variations in movements.
It detects movements through 50 cm of concrete, wood, roof tiles, glass, bricks, plastics and more. (However, note that electromagnetic waves cannot pass through metal surfaces or water). A SENSOR DESIGNED FOR THE FIELD
The radar aerial and associated electronics of this rescue equipment are housed in a small waterproof and shockproof case.
The sensor is lightweight and compact to make it easier to handle and search in small spaces. It has a Lithium-Ion battery giving it 4 hours of running time. 2 TYPES OF CONNECTION TO THE BOX
It is WiFi-connected with a range of 30 m, making it easier to handle in the field (alternatively, a cable can be connected). TWO SEARCH MODES
The SCAN device has 2 search modes:
- Automatic: Automatic analysis of several predefined areas to detect up to 7 living people.
